Alright, after some difficulty with the technical aspects of this, i.e. uploading, the project went well overall. I changed my theme a little bit. Basically because I quickly found out I couldn’t naturally produce a black cloud of darkness. Instead, i show a person turning the light off. Naturally, the whole room is pitch black. He quickly freaks out about this and grabs a flashlight. He turns on the flashlight and shines it in his own face, illuminating an expression of sinister happiness. He was afraid of the dark, but now he is “safe” and happy. Maybe a little too happy…

i had some troubled coming up with a way to draw what i was trying to portray. I want the “character” to have a sense of fear, literally from darkness. A dark cloud of sorts is rolling on, not only literally but also to represent a sort of mental darkness. I want to have a picture of some darkness creeping and the character seeming uneasy. then the darkness is about to consume him and he is nearly terrified. he lights a match and we can see calmness. although he is completely consumed by darkness, the tiny light is enough to give him hope.

our group decided to break of the project into sections. i am in charge of shot lists, music, and scouting real world locations. i (as well as everyone else) have recently been contributing to the editing of our story. once that is complete i can begin to make a more detailed shot lost.

I have come up with a few ideas so far but I continue to come back to one. I got the idea originally from a classmates treatment. Although after more and more brainstorming. My idea doesn’t really have much to do with the treatment anymore. I have 2 guys sitting in a car, possibly at a red light. They are buddies and/or co-workers. I already have a pretty good idea of their personalities, but it’s still up for change. They are going to be a little “too friendly” towards one another. But neither one of them really notice or think its weird at all. Change over time could be the light changing or possibly them falling asleep. But due to the difficulty of taking pictures at an intersection. I may settle on a parking lot, waiting for someone to exit a building. I have new ideas everyday…

1. Dorm room – night

TREVOR is sitting quietly at the desk in his dorm room, textbook in his lap, staring at a Microsoft Word document on his computer screen. Instrumental music is playing lowly through his speakers as he peruses his chemistry notes. Suddenly, the door bursts open. His roommate, PIERRE, is standing in the doorway, wearing nothing but a towel and flip flops, and holding a bottle of body wash.

PIERRE

Hey man I came up with a movie. I think it’s a good one this time.

TREVOR

Ah yah? (without looking up)

PIERRE

Alright, so the story begins with the marriage of two lovers; extra emphasis on the exchange of vows. But the groom was born into this mob family and he has no control over his vicious past. His only escape is by finding true love

TREVOR

Right.

PIERRE

Alright so after the ceremony, their Royce got smashed into from the rear and shattered glass goes everywhere. Then Pierre…

TREVOR

Wait, what? (looking at Pierre for the first time)

PIERRE

Yah I just figured that would be the main character. Whatever it’ll all make sense when they go to France. Just, listen, Pierre falls out of the car and as he regains consciousness, he sees a white blur being carried into another vehicle. The gangsters abduct his bride and pull off. So Pierre puts two bullets in the cars tires, but that doesn’t even slow the vehicle down. And just like that, she’s gone. (Trevor flips a page in his book) Pierre finds out that these gangsters where the ones who killed his father, who had an unpaid debt to them. (Sitting on the bed) Are you hearing this?

TREVOR

Yah man, sounds crazy. (writes something down, doesn’t look up)

PIERRE

Alright well Pierre is no average guy. During his upbringing, he learned military tactics and specializes in special agent skills. He will do whatever it takes to save his wife no matter how intense the situations get. He’s at a point of no return. And if he dies, it will without a doubt save his wife.

TREVOR

Oh obviously. (he grabs his computer mouse)

PIERRE

Alright well the gangsters contact him and he has to go to France or London to confront or crush his past while saving his wife. He obviously encounters a few setbacks like being detained over seas but then he escapes or is hospitalized.

TREVOR

Does it have an ending? Cuz I got this test tomorrow…

PIERRE

Yes, of course. But I’m not exactly sure of the scene of rescue. Maybe a battleship or underground cellar, or an abandoned building. Maybe he will save her and then lose her again.

TREVOR

So, no? (staring at Pierre)

PIERRE

Yes I just haven’t thought of it yet. I know a chopper will be used at some point for evacuation but shot down by a missile. Or maybe the train is derailed that the couple is in, on tracks that are over a sea or huge body of water.

TREVOR

What’s this movie called?

PIERRE

“Yes” is my favorite answer.

There is a man who has many friends, family, supporters, and even fans. Throughout his life he enjoys being the center of attention. He loves to make people laugh. He loves to talk. He loves making people hear him. He always has an opinion and wants, almost needs people to know what his thoughts are and why they are correct.

We see him sitting around a group of friends. He is front and center, just the way he likes it. People are laughing and having a good time. The jokes keep coming. People laugh harder. He thrives in the spotlight. It becomes somewhat addicting for him.

The following year he heads off to college. He has lost contact with some of his friends. With a much smaller audience now, he tries even harder to be right. He tries harder to make people laugh. His arguments become longer. He has more reasons for his opinions. He needs more attention.

Another year or so passes by and now his “audience” is even smaller. He becomes cold and bitter. His jokes are no longer playful, but rather rude. Almost outright offensive. At this point he doesn’t even care about his true feelings on a topic, he just cares that he makes other peoples feelings sound stupid and wrong. He alienates himself even further from people. Not just the ones closest to him, but everyone. Always having the right answer is not always good. He had never been humbled in his life. He was never wrong. Everyone around him thought he was right and laughed with him and humored him and eventually they left him. “Yes” was his favorite answer. He loved the attention. He loved having people focused on his every word. But since he never listened to or cared about other people, then no one listened to or cared about him anymore.

Years pass before we see the man again. He is alone, but he doesn’t understand why. He used to be so funny. Everyone used to like being around him. But his addiction to the spotlight, his growing need to be the center of everybody’s attention, eventually put him right where he never thought he would be. Alone. With no one to talk to and no one to listen to him, he feels like all hope is lost.

The man is now a substitute middle school teacher. He can’t wait to get the phone call from the principal, saying that they need him to sub. The only way he can get out of bed in the morning, is by knowing there might be a slight possibility that he will be needed. That somewhere, someone will have to listen to him. For a man with so much promise, so much personality, he has resorted to telling children to do a worksheet. A pathetic story for most, but the man is happy. He clings to what little opportunity he has to be heard, to be the center of somebody’s attention. He tells the kids to do their worksheet and sit quietly when they are finished. He walks to “his” desk, sits down and smiles.

I decided to use a lyric from the song “Red”. “‘Yes’ is my favorite answer” really jumped out at me. It made me think of a boy/guy/man who has many friends, family, supporters, and even fans.
